Anyone else with one periscope? (FIXED)

This problem has plagued me since I bought the game. I have the attack periscope which works fine-but when I raise the Observation periscope (INS,DEL-or menu bar) the scope shows just a black field.
When I modded to RFB I had the same problem-but then it was the Attack scope that was blacked out and the Observation scope worked.
I waited for patch 1.3 removed all mods and did a clean reinstall. (Yes. I removed my docs and everything.)
No obs scope again!
I tried TM 1.3 and betterscopes.
No difference.
It's not a major problem as I just use the attack scope for everything. It just annoys me that I can't figure out what's going on.
I was hoping someone might have an answer, and was wondering if anyone else has the same problem?

Try using the little up/down peri button on the actual view, might just be that the game isn't recognising that your pressing down on the keys.

Thanks for the suggestion-but that's not it. I can hear it going up and down-just the scope stays black.

Just to make sure we're all on the same page....

Page Up and Page Dn raise and lower the attack scope.

Insert and Delete raise and lower the Observation scope.

From the Observation scope screen you can press the Page Up button on your keyboard and hear the motor noise, but because you're raising the Attack scope, the Observation scope stays black.

Could this be what's happening to you?

Man, do I feel like a moron!:rotfl:
I always thought that just because there is only one periscope icon on the taskbar-that when you hit the button to raise/lower the scope-it would raise/lower the one you picked. Never realized you have to hit "o" to get the observation scope. Sorry-and Thanks.
