damage, but I see none???

I successfully attacked a convoy, got hit a few times...nothing serious.

I was surfaced for a bit and came up on another convoy to decide to run at PD for a while to pop to scope up a few times to wait for the fish to catch the bait. I decide to jump down below the thermal layer...but before I could get there my boat suddenly implodes without notice. (or rather, I take on a massive amount of damage...no mines around, no depth charges, nothing...just lots of damage then the slow revolving "death" screen.

What gives. My DC screen showed no damage.

Damn...this is frustrating.

Any suggestions? or fixes to this? Its like there's "Invisible" damage that renders your ship useless or in-operable

Even though there's no stock "Hull Integrity %" reading like there was in stock SHIII you still lose hull integrity after sustaining damage. Just because your crew repairs all the systems that took damage doesn't mean your boat is then back to 100%. Realistically crews could not repair their boats back to that state at sea (obviously). Your maximum dive depth will change after recieving damage.

When you make a deep dive after taking damage pay attention to the lights in your Command Room. Once they start to flicker you know you're reaching your critical depth and you should come back up still they stop.

It can be due to time compression too. I experienced, and other players reported too (even in earlier versions) that our subs would suddenly be ultimately damaged, with the death sequence displayed, without that any of us could explain why.

I could find no explanation at this date.

But I experienced it 3 times yesterday, and gave up using high values of TC when submerged. This can even happen at periscope depth, some reported. Personally, I experienced this while submerged at 65 m in a Porpoise, with a speed of 4 knots. So, in safe conditions, considereing I had no damage at all.
