Can't complete mission

This is probably not in the right spot this is my first post.
I installed 1.3, booted, deleted all my saved games and started a new career.
Problem is I was sent to patrol the Marshall Islands which I have done for the past 11 days and I cannot seem to complete the mission. I have patrolled ever square mile of the islands and have gone to the target point on the map, made numerous radio reports but it won't give me a complete for the mission. Any ideas?

This is to paraphrase anothe skipper who imparted this advise in another thread.
Draw a 40nm radius circle around your mission area with the star at the centre, patrol within there for atleast 48hrs. it was suggested that the max rangeis 50nm so leave teh outer 10nm for chasing strays that may escape from any attacks that you prosecute.

Thanks Simon I will try that but I think I spent at least 48 hours right beside the target point.
