Default Widescreen not fullscreen?

Any one else's widescreen monitor cutting the bottom of the picture off right in the middle of the interface?

Also, there seems to be a lot of compression artifacts surrounding the moon, changes in the color of the sky, and around my sub and other ships. I have PPF and environment effects on.

May be a driver issue. They changed the WS programming a little but mine looks great. I'm running a BenQ 20" WS.

I had to play around with mine before I found a resolution that didn't distort the display.

Yeah I used to like the light shafts. Sometimes they look nice, but I noticed when looking at the moon it was really f'ed up so I turned them off.

1. No I haven't noticed such a thing.
2. Barab made good points. Not sure if you are talking about the horrible banding of the sky colors. I hope us widescreen users aren't actually having it worse than 4:3 with the sky colors.

I have a Dell 2407. That's a 24" wide screen. I have no problems at all. In fact I just sit and stare in amazement at the water rendering. It really is impressive!

I also have a 24" widescreen monitor (Samsung) for which the max resolution is 1920x1200. I play most games at 4:3 1600x1200, though, as most games aren't properly programmed to deal with widescreen.

SH4 seemed to work alright at 1920x1200, but I couldn't get the 360 degree bearing tool mod to scale properly at that res so I've dropped back to 4:3.

I think you need to mod the image file for that overlay. Resize into an aspect ratio suitable for 16:9 (or w/e the aspect ratio of widescreen is).
