Default Occasional CTD with this error:

Although enjoying the new patch, I occasionally get a CTD with this error:

AppName: sh4.exe AppVer: 1.3.0.0 ModName: kernel.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0001bc90

Anyone know what causes this?
Thanks!

The cause can be an overheated-overstressed computer.

The idea is that the computers that are near the recommended configuration are far less likely to CTD than the ones that are near the minimum configuration.

So 2 Gb of RAM is higly recommended and also an expensive video card.

Also, if you video card is from ATi, you should check the
topics on that matter.

Roger that. Here are my specs- shouldn't this be sufficent:
Dell XPS 710
Quad-core 6700 proc running at 3.2Ghz
2 Gb OCZ RAM DDR2
10,000 RPM HD with 162Gb Free
2 nVidia 7900GS in SLI

Yes, should be quite enough. How is the cooling in your pc-case? Do you have sufficient case-fans for conducting cool air in and blowing hot air out? No cables hanging in the way which can disrupt airflow to and from graphics card and/or CPU?

I think so. It's all "stock", but the XPS is Dell's attempt (and not a bad one) of a gaming rig, so it's got cooling out the wazooo. Big one in front, monster one on the proc, and the both video cards have their own fan.

Hmmm. You know, I have the SLI forced into "alternate frame rendering" in an attempt to improve performance. Maybe it should go to split frame? If I set it to "auto" SH4 seems to only use one GPU.

Bad news: maybe you should disable SLI, it could be SLI that's causing the CTDs.
