Yes I did. Isnt it sad that the whole SSI franchise went down? Hopefully one day some new company will create something like it.

Has the PanzerG Converter been updated? I downloaded it when it came out (last year), and found it very good, but not really finished. For instance there were still many icons and graphics left over from PeoplesG and they felt out of place.

Did they do anything like this for a WWIII timeline, or a Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003), or a Operation Desert Storm set up?

No this was more a game/sim of UN strategy against Korean, Chinese etc small scale incursions. It's a blast (especially with the hack that adds new units) and can get very intense. PG II and this game were the Strategy side to SSI, while the tactical battles were more the area of "Steel Panthers". Loved "SP3".

I know what this game was . . . but was or has someone created a similar style game that allowed one to sim the preoccupation OIF or ODS?

He just means whether there's been a similar game based on Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Desert Storm :hmm:

I don't believe there has. If there is, I'd like a copy :P

For instance, I would love to Sim the advance up the central corridor to Bagdad, and the Thunder Run that lead to the capture of Bagdad. Or see how the war would have gone differently if Turkey allowed 4th ID to advance south from their borders, or any other scenario for an alternate OIF. Or simulate ODS with the fight against what was then the 4th largest military.

Hm understand now. I dont know if someone has made this kind of mod, but it seems plausible. Certainly Peoples General is the only one in the (5-star SSI) series that could support that, because only it has important aspects of modern warfare like rockets, wild weasel airstrikes or chopper lifts for infantry - yet for ultra modern warfare that might still not be enough. I mean it models Chinese / Russian / UN forces / mostly 70s and 80s weapons.

Still no one has answered my question about the PeoplesGen WWII converter. Are there any substantial updates released? When I tried a year ago it seemed ok, but as the UI was unchanged, and there were some crashes as well I'd put it on hold.
