Sounds great :-)
If I had American guests today, I would offer this dessert:
“Hannah Davis’ Apple Crumble” (found in: New York Cookbook, 1992, Molly O’Neill)
Hannah Davis is often referred to as „the first widow of the revolution“, because she was the wife of Captain Isaac Davis of the Acton Minute –Men, whom he led against the British at Concord Bridge, saying “I have not a man that is afraid to go”. He was killed by the first volley fired, April 19, 1775. Mrs. Norden, his great-granddaughter, made the recipe known:

"Filling:
900 gr. sour apples, about 8 apples that is
125 gr. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg, freshly grated
1 tsp. clove

Crumble:
70 gr. flour
60 gr. sugar
3 tablespoonful of butter
Vanilla

Mix the crumble ingredients with your fingers and sprinkle the mixture over the marinated apples.
Oven temperature: 180 °C, about 1 hour."
(Translation back to English by me)

Of course, one could put some vanilla/nut ice, cream, chocolate granules, Calvados /Apple Brandy etc. on top.

We had to defer our planned BBQ this evening.

So we're having Goulash instead.

Defrosting as I type.

I'm heading out to a friends party, but all in all he picked up 40 pounds of assorted meat along with all the other cookout fixings. It's shaping up to be a great day. Have fun everybody
