I didn't know it was that smart; but then I use the "conning" tower to steer the ship, not plot to take over the world.:rotfl:

Kaleu, are you saying it's not just the /3 tower that's killing your men?? I thought you might have started a new career to try out alternative towers for the IXD2.

Since I'd like to go to Penang someday, please share what you've learned so far -- what to avoid, specifically. Vielen Dank!

sailing in mu U-124 IXB ...
had the problem with all 3 type's of cunningtowers .
and NO! you cant be on time to stop it.
once a bullet (DG,Flak, machine gun, etc) hits yer tower it starts

@ Reece: i want to get rid of this problem
i want to sail surfaced trough the channal (later on trough gibraltar)
but its just unfair

sorry man, but I have no idea what you problem is. Could you specify?

What's a cunningtower? Sounds like something one would do with his/her girlfriend, not with a u-boat.

I think he is referring to this bug http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=108189 . Not sure if anyone has been looking at ways to fix this but it is a game killer if it happens to you.

To put an end to this joke:

cunningtower = conning tower

[A conning tower is a raised platform on a ship or submarine, often armored, from which an officer can con the vessel; i.e., give directions to the helmsman. It is usually located as high on the ship as practical, to give the conning team good visibility.] Wikipedia

Hello kaleuns:
I had exactly the same problem... everybody was dying in the conning tower. When I sent the repairs team there, the only the only slots where crew don't get killed are 1st and the 2nd at the right the officer's slot. Those 2 slots seem to be bug-free and keep the repair guys there until you get the report that there is no damage to repair. Just in case you want to try it.

I think this problem is being solved by the GWX Team and the fix will be included in 1.04, if I am not mistaken.
If this is the case, than patience is a good alternative, I think.

You can always switch boats to a VIIC or even a IIB right? :rotfl:
