Default Propeller Rotation Directions

I just noticed on the Gato when I was testing the Emergency Reverse function that the propellers were spinning in the wrong direction for reverse according to the blade angle.

Apparently someone bungled coding which way the damn propellers were supposed to spin. When I'm at flank speed, the props are spinning as if it's Emergency Reverse (visually speaking). So that kind of detracts things a bit, especially if you're really that attenative.

It had better be. On the side, are there any mods that would let me have more freedom with the camera placement? Currently there are "barriers" around each ship that limit how close I can get. :|

I've often wondered why the Devs restricted the outside camera from being to close. Could the camera be coded to get right up in your face ( so to speak ) and then just stop before hitting the rivets? :hmm:

There's also something else: the S-Boat's right side propeller does not turn when the boat is surfaced - at all!

Perhaps a battery charge off the one prop like the Uboat did?

Don't think so as the U-Boats only had two engines and one did the charging while the other turned one screw, then when batteries charged both engines turned the two screws. US Subs had four engines and both screws turned during a charge as another engine did the charging ( also was coupled to a screw but not when charging ).

Hold the phone, after some checking maybe you are right about the S-Boat as according to this they had only two engines, but it looks like they could charge on the surface and drive the screws at the same time. Read here ( This is copied from part of a below link) :
Simon Lake's last S-boats…the so called 4th group USS S-48 (SS-159), USS S-49 (SS-160), USS S-50 (SS-161), and USS S-51 (SS-162) were powered with two side-by-side Busch Sulzer 2 cycle Model 6M150 diesel engines of 900 BHP, each. USS S-48, after rebuild, had 2 Busch Sulzer 2 cycle diesel engines of 1,000 BHP, each. These were direct drives; mechanical power from the engine through a clutch to the dynamo (motor/generator) through another clutch then to the propeller.

As for what engines Your SHIV Subs are using is probably listed here: http://www.subvetpaul.com/Engines.htm

More info: http://www.maritime.org/fleetsub/diesel/chap1.htm

And here: http://www.maritime.org/fleetsub/die...ut/fig1-14.htm

Well I know for sure that this USS Drum truns both screws while charging Then again it's not an S-Boat either.
