Default Diasastrous reinstall of Windows

I managed to delete ALL my vids, so if anyone has downloaded any of them from FileFront I would love to get my hands on them.

Tried some recovery software yet ? If you delete a file from your hardrive ( I mean DELETE, not TRASH ) it isn't really gone. The bits are still there . But you need specialized software to get the data back. Don't now anything specific as I never needed to this.

Stabiz,
I dled them and watched them, but I don''t know if I saved any of them. I am away from home now, but when I get back I will check my files.

lol, mate. This is the second time you've done this.

Plonker.:p

Get a USB External HDD!

You might be able to recover some of your files by using 'Recover My files'. You should be able to find a copy and as long as the original location of your files on the HDD have not got new data written to them then they should be retrievable (we are talking physical location not the windows explorer location).

Sorry, but everytime I hear someone lost their data, I wonder why on earth no backup exists? A DVD cost you less than 4 kroner (see you're norwegian)... imho worth every cent/øre

Wish I could say I feel with you, but can't truthfully... but I do hope you find it again somewhere

No, its not the second time, the first time was about the vids being deleted from fileFront. This is worse.

Sure, backups are fine, but its too late for that now.

Sounds great, irish, I really hope to get some of them back.

*Uboat vs Destroyer
*Adventures of U-52 (three parts)
*GWX Trailer
*Clash of Titans

Stabiz,
I am sorry. I checked all my DVD backup and my ext hard drive, and I didn't have any copies.
I am really sorry as I enjoyed all of them. Have you tried Terrapin's site?

You don't even need DVDs. Just compartmentalize your hard drive by having your windows installation seperate from your data partition so that if Windows needs to be reinstalled you can wipe out that entire partition without worrying about losing a thing. I've been very unlucky with WIndows and had to reinstall multiple times this year, but I didn't lose a single file (not until my entire drive failed hehe... he... huh).

Just a bit of advice, windows needs to be the first thing on the hard drive. Its mental.
