Default [REQ] Vidual Damage Mod

Hi there.
What really annoys me while playing is, that the number of visual damage on a ship is very limited... especially when there's a surface battle going on most shells don't even leave scorched areas where they hit... some torps rip big holes into the ship hull, other seem to do nothing.
Is there a way to change the number of visual holes from attacks on a ship? If a ship won a serious firefight I want to see how bad it is damaged.

I have been asking the same thing across at the UBI SH4 forum for some time now......annoys the hell outa me to only ever see a max of 6 shell holes, and 5 torp holes.......

My original post on the other forums.

In SH4 we have the new visual damage, you see proper holes in the ships with torpedo hits, and holes ih the ships when you hit them with a deck gun shell ( depending on the armour of the ship hit of course )

My problem is this, the torp holes seem to be a max drawn of 5, ie 5 holes in one ship, all subsequent hits seem not to draw or make new visual holes, can this be increased with a mod, ive taken a look into some files and found no way personaly, same with the deck gun holes, tho that seems to be 5 or 6 holes max.

I would dearly love to see a mod where you can litraly fill a ship with deck gun or torpedo holes, anyone ?

A good example is the Yamato, it "can" take more than 5 torps if you shoot bad, but the 6th hole is never drawn for whatever reason.

When you attack the cargo ships with the deck gun you only ever get the 6 holes, and clearly if all you have is the deck gun left and you have to pump a good few rounds into a ship it would be nice if the visual reflected the shots fired better.
Combined with the other damage mod thats been requested ( smaller visual damage on subs ) this would be an awesome combintation if possible.

Personally I would be afraid if I saw a ship with five giant holes ripped in it still floating along.

My game never seems to render more than two torpedo holes. Agreed on the deck gun shell holes though.

I posted this observation back when I was testing torpedoes, regarding visual damage effects...

See this link below (was in CCIP torpedo dud test thread)
