- The sub damage modeling is absolute rubish. I had 6, yes SIX, big holes on my sub, and I was able to submerge and escape. the crew had minor scratches - I was quietly approaching to a small freighter, calculating the firing solution when I realized it had a french flag. I was about to surface and 2 seconds later a jap plane came howling from nowere and bombed the crap out of it right in front of me :rotfl: - One of my watchmen spotted a plane, I was bored to hell from a long journey so I decided to man the guns. Me and my boys started firing at it, hitting it hard, but he kept coming, and coming, and COMING IN FLAMES.... he missed us by 2 inches. In rl I would pooped my pants right on the spot... ![]() - "Arrrr, another plane skipper".... Ok..... This time was a bomber and my damn tower blocked my firing angle. he passed roaring right above us in a strange angle, upped the nose to avoid water and tried to turn left right over the surface. His right wing touched the water, and then splossshhh, lost the wing, rolled over and boooom :rotfl: - I was being chased by 2 dds and saw a small chance of hitting one of them with my stern torps, so I fired a mk27. Nothing. Then submerged 30 meters and turned starboard (I didn´t want to go any lower because I was badly damaged). After a couple of minutes making evasives I heared through the hydrophone that one of the dds started coming right at me, BUT I also catched another sound near me, kind of buzzing..... I went to the periscope and SAW the mk27 coming from the dd opppsite side, passed RIGHT above me and hitted the dd right in the nose.... ![]() |

In the middle of an insertion mission, TC to the end the waypoint, forgot that the sub would drift after reaching, needless to say the gang did not need the dingy to reach shore.
Did some repairs, got out of there. It was dark, so nobody got to share in my embarassement ![]() RDP |

Anyone notice that when a ship goes down stern first that the flag continues to fly as if the ship is going full steam ahead? Doesn't that seem a little odd?

- Flags wave even underwater in a normal manner
- Sub is equipped with invulnerable and invisible solar pannels & batt chargers - Subs are equipped with high pecision sonar that allows them to track rubber boats - Crew can't tell the difference between a merchant and a crashed pilot - Seaplanes trying to land near a tender explode upon contact with the water - Collision model is stupid: unless a DD intentionally tries to ram you, any kind of ship-to-sub collision will result in no damage to either vessel. Even if a DD is trying to ram you, the only part that will damage YOUR sub is his bow. If your sub even screatches his keel, he'll take massive damage and you'll end up - worst case - with a few scratches on the guns. There is one (other) exception, and that is doing stupid things like running@flank halfway up a semi-sunk vessel then trying to crash dive. Eventually the game realises the collision and applies fatal damage to all compartments. - A DD can eat 8 Mk 10 torpedoes up his bow and still come flanking at 30 knots. - Running silent @ 1 knot while submerged @ 165m (max depth on the deep depth dial) is more likely to get you killed due to DCing than running flank at 15m (3m above regular periscope level -- just enough so that surface ships don't shoot unless you peek with the scopes). - If a ship is still considered destroyed but isn't yet sinking, other ships won't try to avoid it. This is most obvious when a DD is trying to chase you THROUGH a merchant's wreckage. That kind of collision results in the DD exploding, much like you trying to run your sub halfway up such a vessel. |

I had a small convoy contact and thought , just another couple of sampans . Sailed in the general direction until i spotted them and then went to periscope depth . They turned out to be what looked like 2 small freighters . I got close to position myself for a torpedo attack but the freighters had stopped . I didnt think anything of it . I scanned the ships with my periscope and couldnt see any guns so i decided to surface and go for a deck gun attack . I then surfaced and they still didnt move . I thought this will be too easy and decided to get closer . I got closer and closer until i was in short range then all of a sudden boom , a bloody shell goes straight over the top of my conning tower . It seemed to be firing from the middle of the freighter somewhere . Crash dive , battle stations , dive , dive . I this a trap boat or what .

Listening to a hammering sound on the side of my hull for an entire patrol, no matter what view I was in. I'm thinking that one of the guys from that Jap battleship I nailed, grabbed a hammer, and grappled my sub and started beating on it in hopes of making a large enough hole that he could crawl in through and kill us all.
