Default Code Pink Strikes Again!

I, for one, would happily volunteer my town for a Blue Angels show!

What on earth does Veterans For Peace have against an air show? In fact what is Veterans For Peace? Never heard of them.

How mean-spirited is this? I personally think they should double the amount of flights they make per week over the city and half the altitude too. And if anyone complains, well, the F-18 can fire the AGM-65 Maverick can't it?

BTW, Veterans for Peace is quite a big organisation, but to me it always seems a bit like the 'Wise after the event' organisation. I mean, if someone actually had to go to war before it occurred to them that war is bad, then they must be pretty slow on the uptake. Most people don't actually need to get shot at before they've figured out war is generally a bad thing.

Sorry to be the devil's advocate, but last September we had the Canadian Snow Birds demonstration team doing low level maneuvers over the city for a few hours each day for a week leading up to an air show. I was pretty frustrated trying to learn the intricacies of constructivist political theory when the goddamn windows were rattling every ten minutes.

I did go to the show and it was awesome. It just might be better if they had have just kept it to the show grounds and not done the 600 knot rooftop runs or whatever the hell they were up to.

They scared the crap out of me!

Chris Daly loves to see himself on tv, although he always accuses our mayor, Gavin Newsom of the exact same thing. I think he generally just needs to shut up.

Or maybe a group of servicemen and women who have seen the horrors of war first hand, and are trying to stop other people (who have probably only read about war or played it on their computer) from having to see the same horrors first hand.

I esp. like the first comment :p :

Ok, for those of you out of towners, this is not the mayor, this is not the SF public, this is the one-man walking politically correct tantrum that is Supervisor Chris Daly. His antics are a source of nothing but aggrevation and amusement to anyone outside of the skid-row he calls a district. He is certainly a straw man figure, however- and he does not represent your average SF Citizen... at least not any more than Fred Phelps represents jyour average Bible-Belt type.

You forgot the most important part: double the speed.

Although a few innocents will have their windows shattered.

Well, when you think about the average age that people enlist at, a change of mind isn't so much to expect. A 17-year old who has spent his life in the same town in Iowa may not see war as such a horrible thing. Back in time for tea & medals, and all that guff.

I agree actually. For a while it looked like they were going to shut down the Red Arrows and I did everything I could (petitions etc) to try and oppose it. We need things like this, it makes us feel proud of our armed forces and I'm all for them.

So I really don't understand why these guys want to stop the Blue Arrows. After all it's just bad publicity for them which detracts from their otherwise (IMO) worthy stance on the Iraq FU.

I did however object to the way you called them Commie pinko etc(especialy as they've actually served for their country) because they hold a different view from your own, which is why I posted my first post

That said, I am with you guys as far as the Blue Arrows.
