Default Larwick

After unsuccesful penetration last night, I am keen on trying again to get into the sub-base in Larwick. I noticed there's a canal of sorts going a bit zig-zag north-south, popping up not far from the base itself. Is it possible to go submerged through this, in a VII or IIA, and is it netted/mined?

Don't know. I thought about going in there and take out some subs if any were there.

I got in there once before but I went in through the main harbour entrance. Fluked my way in but kept hitting the nets on the way out. Wasnt worth the hassle. Tons of escorts. Worse thing was they kept grounding themselves. That meant I couldnt sink them but their guns remained active. The scope was shot to pieces. Eventually had to surface and run at flank to clear the nets. Had 11% hull integrity and no watch crew left by the time I cleared them. Lerwick is a nasty place

Yes, ships going ashore was particularly bad at Larwick. GWX team should take a look at it.

Hardcoded AI routine
They head for the uboat no matter whats in the way
Harbours or land it matters not to them
Odd really as they will do anything to avoid colliding with each other

Thats cos you are a tulip muncher aboard a uboat

J\K mate

I tried to run a patrol boat through Dunkirk port - in one side and out the other - but it kept running into the dock just to avoid another docked ship about 500 yards away

It was at most an avoid-collision thing. These groundings happen without any sub being detected. Therefore I reckon it's something that one can do... something, with.

Passage at Lerwick is deep enough for a Type IXC

snuck into Lerwick a few times... on each occasion it was revealed to me that there was nothing there worth the risk of infiltrating the base.

one every occasion i may have seen ONE sub, and a medium tanker or something like that.

have not been back recently.
