Default GWX - dive/surface tables?

Would anyone happen to have tables of dive/surface times for GWX player subs? By speed, depth, time? Or simply rate by speed?

I have just realized that dive times in this game are probably the slowest of all the subsims, I have played. At 1kts down to 141M from PD has taken 30 minutes.

I remember SH2/PA where you could manually control the dive plans. Literally, you could dive like a brick of depleted uranium if you wanted to. Of course, the hard part was coming out before crush depth!

By the way, are these dive times at all realistic or are they just what is hard coded in the game?

Thanks.

PS: With everything which I can control in this game, why don't I have control of the dive planes? Why is my only option to control dive rate by speed? SH1 allowed you to manually control the planes with up and down arrow keys. It kind of reminds me of Sub Command in this regard - the graphics are there, just not the controls.

Yeah 1k will take forever to get anywhere and is only really meant for silent running while submerged

Not sure if using " D " will adjust the bow planes to get you down quicker

The dive times are in the SHIII manual in the documentation folder
I guess those are for crash dive though

Also, I think those dive times in the SH3 manual are actually "time to submerge".

I think that maybe I'll SH3C myself all the different submarines tomorrow and test time from PD to certain depths at different speeds. >.>

@MarkShot

Submerged/under waters surface

@SleightOfHand

That sort of task may take months ie; 1, 2, 3, 4, @10, 20, 30 etc. Unless you interspace your speed and depth increments adequately :hmm:

With GWX I seem to be unable to dive to assigned depth at 1kt. I have to be 2kts or faster. Maybe I need to install the reduced positive buoancy mod.

Yes, I installed that and it is still a struggle trying to not slowly creep up while at PD.

As mentioned in other threads, what we really need in SH3 we do not have.

Variable bouyancy. (Along with a number of other real life factors that are not modelled in game... such as salinity and water temperature.)

Modding bouyancy in SH3 is an imperfect animal to say the least, be it positive or negative.

The "Reduced Positive Bouyancy" optional mod currently included with GWX will become default with the release of GWX version 1.04. (We are not satisfied with the current default positive bouyancy in GWX.)

Regarding diving times, our primary objective was to stay within +\- two seconds of the crash dive times listed with stock SH3... and to retain depth control at as close to 1.5 to 2.0 knots as was possible.
