Default [REL] 3 British Planes & Illustrius Carrier

This is a small Mod for all of you! I converted the Illustrious Carrier and 3 British Planes, Swordfish,HurricaneMK1 and the SunderlandMKIII from SHIII for this game.

I have tested them all and used them in my game with no problems and have seen them all so I hope you enjoy the Mod.

I also added all of them to the Roster and populated the British Air Bases with them as well as the carrier and loaded out the planes with arms from this game so they will function properly. All of it is JGME ready.

Seeing all of these are from SHIII all rights belong to UBISOFT and the DEV's of that game. just wanted to add a little more to this game from the Brits seeing they are in this with us LOL!!!!

P.S. About The Roster Name file that is from my game! I Forgot about this I don't have all the ships everyone has created for the game yet in my game plus I renamed a couple of JAP planes so just copy and paste the 3 plane names and the Illustrius to your own Name file. Sorry if I screwed anyone up there! just delete the names file that comes with this download and copy and paste the names below to your own. Sorry for the extra work guys wanted to make it easy for everyone just didn't work out that way!

So the best thing to do is this:
Copy and paste these 3 names to your AIR line of your own Data/Roster/Names [file]
FBHurricaneMk1=HurricaneMkII GB Fighter Bomber
TBSSwordfish=Swordfish GB Torpedo Bomber
LBSSunderlandMKIII=Sunderland GB Search Plane

and copy and paste this one name to the Sea line
CVIllustrious=Illustrious Fleet Carrier

Default Okay when your in the Coral Sea area

You will or should see the planes near or around Port Moresby because there is a British Airbase there that I know is a hot spot for them.

At the risk of sounding overly critical, if I see *any* of these planes flying with the "British" near Port Moresby I would not be happy.

Prior to Japanese occupation in early 1942, the British Far East Air Force had bases in Burma, Malaya, Singapore and Borneo (add in Sumatra and Java as Malaya and Singapore capitulated).

The Netherlands East Indies Air Force, Dutch East Indies Naval Air Service and Royal Australian Air Force pretty much defended everywhere east of Sumatra.

After capitulation the British withdrew to India, leaving the Australians (including a few NEI units), New Zealanders and Americans to fight the Pacific air war.

Looking at Port Moresby, it had at various times RAAF Hudsons, Cats and Kittyhawks plus USAAF Mitchells, Fortresses, Marauders and Dauntlesses. There certainly were never any Hurris or Stringbags there and only RAAF Sunderlands from mid-1944.

I never really see allied planes. The only one I used to see was the stupid Lanc that was scripted to fly at PH, but I deleted all those they made me mad.

Default Not entirly sure where all the British Air Bases are in the game.

There are only 3 files where you can populate them and unfortunatly there is no easy way to figure out in the game set up exact locations and times of these bases and believe me I have been looking big time because I want to make them change according to the dates what country held what area.

But the only 3 planes from the old game I could easily change over where those 3 the others skins are rolled up inside of there dat files for better loading times with the old game engine and I just don't know how to get them out of there and seperate them so I can change them over to this game. I know there are Mosquitos, Wellington's and a Walrus's as well.

And I want to thank Rolf Eschke for giving me the idea when he did the other missing U.S. planes. And his help in how to do it as well!

I plan to bring a couple more war ships from the old game as well that are not all rolled up in the DAT files.

But first I have to finish the ships for this game with cargo's and all before someone kills me for all the wait time LOL! Just had some strainge problems that come up like after a ship dies and starts to sink the outer hull becomes transparent and you can see all the inner compartments of the ships. The funny thing is it only happens when it wants to not consistant.

Anyways enjoy guys and working on more!

An easy way to see "British" planes would be to add the current SH4 Brewster Buffalo model to Australia, Britain, Netherlands and New Zealand. I guess new skins would be required, but one could get away with two skins: one for the Commonwealth nations and one for the Netherlands.

Likewise, assuming it's in SH4 (I no longer have it installed), one could add the Catalina to the Commonwealth nations.

One could also add the Hurricane to the Netherlands.

Heck, if one had the inclination, I'm sure they could very easily correctly reflect the airbase movements of the British, Dutch and Australians during the war. The British and Dutch because they "disappear" after about six months of the Pacific war beginning, and Australia because once you plonk them in one spot, they tended to stay.

American airbase movements may be a bigger task though.

I'm sure it's just a matter of time before someone goes through and gives the roster and airbases a thorough overhaul.

Does anyone know how (or if) the airbases interact with each other?

Is it only a player submarine that forces an airstrike check? (this is kind of a does the light really turn off in the 'fridge question)
