Trigger Maru and Torp Duds

I just downloaded Trigger Maru. So far it looks great, but when I chose the options, I thought I would strat doing manual targeting but without torp duds.
But to my surprise when I went foor a merchant near Hokkaido, I got 2 duds in a row. Is there something in the TriggerMaru Codes that make torp duds always enabled? If so, what files do I need to edit it to change it?
If not, is there any way to change it to no torp duds?

Also, in the readme, there was a link to somewhere that shows you to weaken the AI, do you think I should use this, I don't want to be killed everytime i'm detected.
If I should, can I have the link

I believe duds are always on with TM.

From what I understand, only 'update contacts on map' and 'external camera' are optional.

Also.. part of it depends on what level of difficulty you choose when starting a career.

The limited fuel, CO2, ETC. seem to be optional.
Not sure about fuel though.

Bingo.

What you set in Options will be OVERWRITTEN when you start a career and select easy-hard. You have to select Options from the bookshelf when in the briefing room and reset/recheck everything before you go out.

I dont know how anything can be forced, afaik everything is optional.

Yeah, even in stock SH4, you have to re-select the difficulty options after starting a career in the top-leftmost book on the shelf.
