Hi Guys,
I'm totally new here - just got Silent Hunter 4 last week. Never played sub sims before. Loving it though!!! I believe the sims manual targeting system is a bit broken so tThere seems to be a need for a speed/AOB/course calculator (unless someones already made one that I've missed). So I put one together today - should give exact targeting solutions. It's an excel spreadsheet (you need to run it in the background and alt+tab back to it to do calculations). I can't seem to find a way to attach it though and I don't have any webspace to upload it...can someone host it for me? Where do I send it? Its a beta version and may have errors so I wanna get it out there and see what you guys think! Cheers, Dan |

Here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=106923 And my own poor contribution here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ght=slide+rule A lot of people don't like using spreadsheets and such for manual targeting, because it really isn't 'manual', is it? It's computer-assisted targeting. There are links in those two threads to the images you need to make your own IS-WAS, Whiz Wheel, circular and linear slide rules.

Oh okay, thanks
Yeah it's not really as immersive flicking back an forth between the game and MS Excel - not quite how they did it back in the day I'd imagine ![]() I think I'm gonna start using the map to plot out my firing solutions 'manually' - I only just realised that you can still plot things on the map with the game paused (I was trying to do it in real time which I found damn near impossible, hense the excel sheet) Thanks, Dan P.S If anyone would like a copy of the spreadsheet just PM me and I'll email it |
