In the meantime, on the official and unofficial forums, there are many people trying to sell their copy of SH4, because they just don’t want to be forced to download patch after patch in order to make a game they have already paid for, functional. Therefore, since it’s clear that the team is still “on fire” and working continuously on improving the game, why couldn’t they simply postpone the launch date? It's simply a shame to have such a great game in front of you, to see the great potential of it so clearly, to realize the ease to fix some bugs, and yet not to be able to give it all the credit, since it’s simply not ready.
Still, they awarded it their Silver Award and bestowed a 85% score onto it.

I think if we read the whole review, they are basing their score on the hope that a patch will rectify things. Although this is speculative, I imagine at the stage where we currently are - i.e. before we have come to the end of the patch cycle and can probably expect some fixes - this is a reasonable assumption and relatively fair, given that the review does not skip over SH4's shortcomings.

To give it a blanket bad review without this caveat, would in my view be unecessarily damaging to one of the few developers that is actually still supporting the sub sim genre, and it's not as if they get off scott-free, the review gives them a roasting for having released it too early and making us have to wait for it to fulfil the score it will eventually probably deserve.

So I think that's a pretty fair summary of SH4 on the whole.

Default I like that review.

I think that is a spot on review. It gives me some hope, as it says or strongly implies that we will see continuing support and development.

I agree here with 08x15. It give me some hope also. In all reality, if left for a few more months of finishing it up, this game would be top notch. I have some hope now that the patches will make it top notch. At least there is talk of a patch or more.

I have not lost hope with UBI or the developers.
