Patrol report from U-50.
April 1940, Operation Hartmut U-50 found herself patrolling the approaches to Narvik fjord early on the morning of the 14th April 1940. Heard the sound contacts of numerous destroyers and a Queen Elizabeth class battleship exiting the fjord after the Second Battle of Narvik. Pop up the periscope periodically whilst manoevering into attack position. Fired a salvo of four torps (alas all steam) from a distance of around 3km. One misfired and the other three impacted in the flanks of HMS Warspite. Similarly to Barham, she sank within minutes. This was also my only encounter with a taskforce in GWX so far. Great moment!! Cheers, Dan |

Excellent victory fellow Kaleun! I had some great successes with my U-31/U-230 career that I had before my current one with U-6. Notable sinkings were 2 Carriers and 3 Cruisers (2 Dido Class, 1 Fiji Class.) What goes around comes around, and I was rammed by a merchant vessel late August of 1940 and sunk
