Hi
I started practicing Ashtanga Yoga about a 7 months ago. Now I'm pretty much hooked. It can be intense and sometimes quite difficult (to really master this stuff will take many years of dedication, no doubt), but I must say it is one of the most rewarding forms of excersie I ever have tried. Perfect match with rockclimbing as well. So I have stopped going to the gym... Ashtanga Yoga seems to make you strong and flexible at the same time. ![]() ![]() This is not me practicing at home.. whish it was. = Anyone else tried Ashtanga yoga or similar? Ps. Yoga got to be the perfect excersice on a sub... ![]() cheers Porphy

I love yoga. I don't do it but the word reminds me of a warm fuzzy (yoda) and if it works for you good on ya and anyone else who is so inclined.

You mean this one? I might have to train a few more years to do this stuff. Patiance is a virtue in Yoga I guess.

I use to do it in my 20's for years, Proud warrior pose was my favourite for stretching the muscles. Yoga opens up muscles you never knew you had.

![]() Anyway, Yoga doesn't hurt, as long as you do what is within your capabilities and stay reasonable. But you will feel strain and feel uncomfortable, and of course have some sore muscles the day after a more powerful session. The point though is that all those feelings will go away or be reduced a lot after doing Yoga some time. When you master a yoga position you will be quite relaxed when moving in and out from that position. As a beginner one struggles with coordinating breathing, muscle control, the inflexible muscles, poor core strength and balance, etc which makes it hard. It's a joy to see someone doing the triangle A and B with perfect control and no effort. ![]() cheers Porphy
