Multiplayer mode queries

I finally managed to get multiplayer setup and linked in to my bruv's machine and we had loads of fun. However, 2 things I noticed that are different to SH3. In SH3, it was possible to get unlimited torpedoes.. not good if you want realism, but good if you want to just get out there and sink ships for fun.

Also, if you got sunk you could come back in Observer mode and chat to others still in the game.

In SH4 you can do neither of these, as far as I can see.

Does anyone know otherwise?
