I know this is way simple,but I can't save a career.After I try and save a mission,I get a user failed mission,by quiting to Windows.I can go back and start the mission,where I left off,but if I dock it says I died.Any help appreciated.

Anytime you quit your patrol before completeing the objective you'll get a "failed to complete" message. That's normal. Just pick up at that point to continue. I've never had a "killed" message though.
I usually start out on a patrol then save just after leaving port. That way I pick up at that point. |

Make sure your patched to 1.2 and use the save game guidelines.
1 - save on the surface - never submerged 2 - save from the map screen 3 - save when there are no ships closer than 10k yards. This prevents corruption in the savegame file. Another point is to never overwrite save files - always use a different filename. Whenever you save - then exit - you get the mission failure listed - but if you save the game PRIOR to exiting - the save wont be effected by the exit. Good Hunting! Captain Haplo |
