Guys what do you do when you dont have a time to use tdc in case of fast closing attacking destroyer? ( Except diving :-) )when there is no time for bool****:-)
In range (300-500) What I do I just trying to make a shot a 10-30(depends of range and assumed speed of DD) degrees ahead of destoyer's course. if I have more than 1 torpedo to shot I send another one with up to 10 degrees on gyro angle). And if destroyer is closing with AOB 0 and at 350 -10 bearing I just shoot straight. This method gives me success rate of 60%. Its actually just a litle bit more than 50/50 chance. I m very interested in your advice. Thanks. VK

Ive been working on this ... because... well it happens alot.
I had a touch of success tonight by setting the torps at around 12 feet er meters whatever. Set on fast no deflecton pistols on mag/influence and hopefully hes commin straight at you. Took a snap shot and ... WOW it worked ! crippled em enogh to get away and set up a normal shot. Your milage may differ. :p |

I set the speed in the TDC to zero. This gives a zero-gyro shot, like - aiming by eye - I just id the bastard, set for 1m below keeldepth, and lead him by eye. In a pinch I can usually get him with one or two torps this way. I usually like to save them for bigger targets though.
