Default Do I still get as much Renown if I don't patrol my grid for 24 hours?

For example, I am on my way to the grid and I get a large convoy and expire all my torps, I send a message and it says return to base, should I go back or still patrol my grid?

For the extra renown I think you still need to patrol your assigned grid.

That s a question a way of playing... the role play part if there s one

you have to patrol you assigned grid to get renown for doing so. That's how the game is working. Now you can hunt renown which is not real immersion as renown was not a quantifiable think during the war , or you can obey order which was quiete appreciate during the war
It s all about you actually, optimize your renown or go to the immersion stuff, your call

You get renown for....

Reaching your patrol grid,
Completing your 24hr patrol,
Returning to base (within 20km, do not warp)

If you want the renown for any of the above you MUST return to base manually.

You will get the renown for all the ships you sunk for sure, But if you dont patrol your grid you miss out on the renown for doing so, it is not that much if my memory serves me right. Im sure someone with the relevent information will be along soon to answer your qestion better

Edit: Now there was a waste of a post Dan you beat me to it and had all the info.

If your not too far away from your patrol grid you might as well complete it, for the renown if nothing else

Edit: 200

Wait, what do you mean? If I sink ships they will not count unless I patrol my grid?? so should I not attack any convoys on my way to my grid area?

Also what is warp??

You get extra renown for going to your grid; more if you stay there 24 hours. It will not affect your tonnage renown.

Warp is using the 'Return to Base' button, as opposed to sailing home.

I always stay in my grid. Smaller scores that way, but more realistic.

You will still get renown for any ships sunk but you will not get the renown for, patroling your grid, staying for 24hrs & returning to base.

IIRC the amount of renown for this totals 500.
200 for reaching your grid, 200 for staying 24hrs & 100 for returning to base manually.

So do you have you have to fullfil all three before you get any renown at all ? :hmm:

Always patrol the grid for the time required. You are part of the wolf pack and any holes in the line... "The whole armada could be getting through".

Go to Grid.
Patrol Grid for 24 hours.
Return to base.
Score Tonnage.

Renown is given for each of these. Renown for each one is independent of the others.
