I've finally done a convoy attack in GWX. It was in the Air Gap, May 1942. U-92. Heavy fog, navigated by sound. Flower Class corvette passed by me. I expected it to attack, so I dove deep. Then I went back to periscope depth, swung the periscope a little bit, then I see a huge tanker right in front of me, 200 meters off. The angle on bow was unsatisfactory and the weather would remove the capability of seriously using magnetics, so I waited and looked at 270-290. Out of the fog, pops this:
![]() Incredible. Absolutely incredible. I fired two torpedoes at 200m (yes, 200m!). One detonates, one is a dud. The ship sinks within 6-7 minutes. 12300 tons, incredible... I'm now expecting a depth charge attack. I don't get it. The escort approaches, but I'm not being depth charged. Why? I go to periscope depth to find out. Right in front of me, I see a fellow u-boat gunning it out with a Flower corvette. The boat sinks, but the corvette burns furiously. I'm now on the surface, navigating by the flames of the corvette. I intend to sink it. Edit: Now I remember I've done a convoy attack before, just not intentionally, and in heavy fog and heavy seas. The convoy went on top of me and I just so happened to be in position for an attack when I got to periscope depth. As with this attack I'm doing right now, I didn't get depth charged after firing off my two torpedoes. One of my targets I confirmed sunk, the other I never saw again. The escorts were, again, busy with a wolfpack.
