Taucher haben vor dem Hafen der chilenischen Stadt Valparaiso offenbar eines der ältesten Unterseeboote der Welt entdeckt. "Wir sind uns fast sicher", dass es sich um das U-Boot "Flach" handelt, sagte der Chef der Erkundungsarbeiten. Die "Flach" ging am 3. 140 year old submarine found before Chile

Divers seem to have discovered one of the oldest submarines of the world before the port of the Chilean city Valparaiso. “We are us nearly reliably” that it concerns the submarine “flat”, said the boss of the investigation work. The “flat” went down at 3th May 1866 with eleven crew members and the inventor Karl Flat.

The first submarine in Latin America was the "Flach" (submarino Flach), commissioned in 1865 by the chilean government during the war between Chile and Peru against Spain (1864-1866). It was built by the german engineer Karl Flach. The submarine sank during tests in Valparaiso bay on May 3, 1866, with the entire eleven-man crew.

Saw a program on discovery ages ago..

Now we need evidence of late 18th century destroyers equiped with depth charge racks and late 18th century torpedoes.:hmm: If so ubi-soft can make a Late 18th century Silent Hunter!:rotfl:
