Yeah, you're probably right. But for some reason the world loves to think Americans are stupid (maybe ignorant is a better word here). Most people I know have a 'stupid American' story to tell, which usually involve unfathomable ignorance and lack of an ability to 'catch on'. How did this stereotype evolve?

ie have a job, mortgage, children of your own, not take money from your parents or the gov't (even the Irish gov't).

Man you need to take a chill-pill!

Seriously I don't think Americans are at all stupid,you could ask me where places are in America and I wouldn't have a clue. I think that Americans are probably easier targets because they seem to love a TV camera. Show one to me and I'd run a mile, because I'd know it was a wind-up.
