Is it possible to use official patches with local versions of the game ?
I wouldn't like to wait for my local developer to release current patch ( usually about a month later than the original one) I want to buy SH4 but I dont know whether to buy local version or look for english one. |

Serious?
Are they making local copies of this game? I bought 2 copies. One limited exclusive edition from UBI headquarters, and one special edition from a computer internet shop in Norway. The games are exactly the same.

Sure they do.
Btw. "local" means that it has Polish subtitles. I think in Poland local version is sold already patched to 1.1. But I'd like to be able to install new patches as soon as they are available in the net. |

Hmmm.. :hmm:
My guess is that nothing has been changed in your version except the language file, so I would say it wouldn't cause any problems using international patches. Just to be sure you might want to ask in this forum: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/6421019045 Here you can get the "official" word! Good luck anyway ![]()

Cenega released localized (Polish subtitles) version of Silent Hunter III. Leter, they released patch 1.4 for their version, however it took them some time after the 1.4 was released worldwide. I expected it so I preordered the game from one of the internet stores. The same with SHIV, which I got via amazon.co.uk. And if you take a lok at http://www.cenega.pl/pliki.php?Typ=2&Lit=S you can see something amazing - a patch for SHIV - version 1.12 which is 147,04 MB. I always try, if possible, to get English versions due to later patching problems, problems with mods, etc. One thing is sad, though, English versions are more expensive compared to localized Polish ones.
Best regards Mac
