Very cool. I was only saying to my Brother yesterday how as a child Helicopters and Fighter planes were cool and Ships and Subs were so dull. Moving into middle age though and all of a sudden ones appreciation for the hell that submariners must have gone through puts everything into perspective.

These drawings just serve to bring home how cramped the conditions must have been in these old diesel subs. Rather them than me thanks.

Those of you who have not seen those before might want to reference the whole list, so you can look at ALL the drawings:

Don't thank me; shad43 brought it up this time. I've noted before that about once every two weeks someone posts a new link to the site http://www.maritime.org/fleetsub/index.htm

Anyone know where I might find a higher resolution copy of the FIGA-01 Compartmentation Cutaway? I think I've googled just about every combination of words including fleet, sub, cutaway, blueprint, compartment... Nothing...

http://www.maritime.org/fleetsub/app...es/figa-01.htm

Im sure there is a higher resolution image, in fact I hope that it comes with the PDF, as I ordered the NavPers 16160 CD from them...

Cheers.
