how do you check fps?

I can't find any information on how to setup a fps counter.A little help appreciated.I don't have any problems,but just started running two evga 7950's in sli configeration,and I would like to see how there doing.Thanks in advance.My take on SHIV.It's coming along,and I'm sure it will be good when all the patching and modding are done.It is however trailing SHIII IMHO.Tough act to follow!
