?s on Nvidia Geforce 7950 GT 512k. Am I Set Right??

I can only seem to get my card to go to 4x on AA even though 8Xs is an option. When I selected 8x it shows nothing checked (and the game is jerky with a crazy framerate), but when I check 4x, it stays checked and the game runs fine.

I have everything checked but Windowed and Vert Sync. I have 1280 x1024 @ 75 MHZ and all sliders to the right and Terrain LOD to the left gamma in the center.

I get 75 FPS in main menu and map, 38 inside sub, 38 from all observation scopes, 38 on deck with target out at sea, and 19-25 on deck while in port.

My System Info

Pentium (R) 4 3.20 GHZ
2.75 GB RAM DDR
GeForce 7950 GT 512MB GDDR3

Also, can someone smarter than me look at my card setting and see if i have something marked that my be a negative issue....

Aargh, you mentioned jerkyness. My main issue with this game. It may be that the 7950GT is doomed.

ASO544.....Your post causes me concern. I recently purchased a Nvidia 8800. I noticed while reading about the latest patch the 8800 isn't supported either.

Does anyone have experience with this type vid card (8800)? If so what has been your experience?

Lots of people doing just fine with 8800, you lucky bastard!

Seriously, expect 8xFSAA, 16xAF, high resolution and nice fps, mate.

I have a single 7950GT 512MB and it runs at 60FPS locked with all settings maxed and everything but Environmental in 1.2 but when Environmental is on, it becomes locked at 30FPS externally outside while 60 inside the sub.

No jerkiness, it runs smooth, I run 1280x1024 and 60Hz (LCD)

Prior to the patch (and AA ability) I was getting 50-60 FPS outside veiws. Now don'r get me wrong, the current FPS are fine and the game runs very smooth and is pretty as hell!!!!.

I was just curious why my 8X would not check and if anyone else has had this problem. Every other selections (application controlled, off, 2X , 2Xq, and 4x) shows a check showing that it is running in the mode. Just weird that the 8X does not and I am guessing it diverts back to Application Controlled mode cause the game acts and runs identical to that (AC) when I try and select 8X.

I was also concerned that some of my other settings may not be the right ones and could be having a negative effect on FPS.
