Is SH4 OPGL or Direct X based???

DirectX. There aren't alot of games nowadays that use OpenGL.

As said above, most games these days are D3D. But some games look alot better in OpenGL mode, such as Deus Ex.

Oh indeed OpenGL is still used, I personally prefer it to DirectX (I grew up with OpenGL classics like Quake 2/3 and such ). OpenGL can make 'em pretty indeed.
