Now that there is FSAA (who says that Ubi doesn't listen to their customers?), I'm wondering what other settings I can use in-game.
Usually, I run medium settings with most eye-candy off (Bow wakes and reflections are all I have on, IIRC). Now that Patch 1.2 is out, what eye-candy can now be used without massive FPS hits? Also, what FSAA settings are suggested I use? (I was thinking 4x AA and 4x AF...or maybe 8x AA/4x AF). 2.53 gHz P4 1gb PC800-40 RDRAM 256mb 7800 GS OC |

My rig is similar to yours, so I'd suggest everything turned on (check boxes) except for Environmental Effects and mid-high settings on the sliders.(I turn EE off during large battles/port sailing). AA 2x and AF 4x or something close to it is also recommended.

So I can actually turn on eye-candy and expect to keep my FPS intact?
Also, unrelated question: Did the patch help with that nasty TC FPS hit nearing ports? I hate spending hours on a mission and some hunting, then have it take an additional 30+ minutes just to get close enough to port in order to dock because of either lag or constant ship contacts. |
