Default Worth The Effort!

Well, I had to change my video card and get some more RAM but now the game runs like a charm! Had one crash, but I think that might be more due to me fumbling with the keyboard in a darkened room rather than any flaws in the game engine.

Finished my first patrol of my career in the grand and glorious S-35 (it sure ain't no Type VIIC from SH3 which has kinda spoiled me). It seems like an ok boat for whacking helpless merchantmen sailing unescorted (I got 5 for 20000+ tons 1st patrol), but it might be more challenging to be in while getting worked over by a destroyer.

The whole setup (sound/visuals) are superb! Luckily alot of the hot keys/commands are similiar to SH3 so I was rolling along nicely with minimal familiarization. But I'm wondering if the gauges showing the subs status (fuel/battery etc) work. I adjusted the Options before starting up to realistic fuel etc but the fuel level or battery level always seem full. I try it again before firing up the next mission in the career.

As well, the depth gauge (expanded or unexpanded) seems to get cut off so I can't see a level beyond 200 ft (not that my S boat is gonna come close to that) but it is a minor irritant.

Other than that, I'm pleased and now I think I'll go back for some more
