I would like to have to ID the ship as hostile or friendly instead of it being done for me as well as radar not displaying the type of ship (merchant or warship) can this be done?

I've been looking at this, so far I don't see a way to do it. :hmm:

For SH3 there were various mods changing all contacts to grey, removing tails etc, all the way up to the 'Assisted Plotting Mod' which left the sonar tracks but only showed ships that you had actually tagged and identified yourself.
I'm sure the SH4 version is right around the corner.

Doesn't turning off map updates in realism do this?

It sounds like it might be done easily with the texture files.
