Default Torpedo was a dud sir

I actually for the first time since i got the game had a torpedo hit the target and bounce off and my soundman said "Torpedo was a dud sir" I was shocked, not that I had a dud but that the soundman said that. Anyone else have that happen?

I've had it happen at least twice that I recall.

I hear it quite often, when the shots are close to 90 degrees. The best is a 45 to 70 degree angle impact.

Sometimes I get that when there is a a premature detination.

I heard that once after I thought I saw an impact... it damaged the ship but no holes.

Yup me too. You'd think a premature explosion would cause the convoy to zig zag and speed up.

I don't think I've had one torp not be a dud if I set it to high speed.

Yea, I always thought so to, but they just chug along as if nothing had ever happened.
