Default Topic: Decoys

I've read that decoys were not used aboard US submarines. However, I remember there was a key for jettison oil/debris in the good ol' game "Up Periscope!" If you used this key, there would be a noticable amount of desiel fuel expended from your tanks.
Maybe that's what it is?
But I sure havent seen the slick in external view.

If you check the external view of the sub, it releases what looks like a tin of baked beans

Check out this thread for a discussion of what exactly the decoy feature is modelling:

Thanks for the redirect. I'll look for the can of baked beans :rotfl:tonight.
I would rather see an oil slick, though.

I would like to see Bernard jettisoned instead of the can of beans.

Default You guys just don't get it

You all are not understanding how the decoy works

1. Feed the can of beans to Bernard
2. Wait for the gasteric effect to take place
3. Then eject Bernard out of the boat
4. The naturally occuring bubbles from Bernard will confuse the enemy sonar
5. As an added benefit, once Bernard hits the surface any ship in 2KM will be...impaired
6. Your sub must remain underwater for at least 24 hours to avoid collateral damage

Not to mention what Bernard expels after the bean eating is chemical warfare
