Default GWX ISSue -- TypXXI--Uselees 256megs seeflor version

First i must say GwX is a nice mod.
But there is no reason to exclude low end pc users who were able to run SH3.. with some mods.As far as i can say some of the usually useless bumped up Texures..(seeaflor you cant see98% of the time..for example) are the main reason the mod is so resource hungry.

There are some options i want to have though ,which i miss in GWX.

First ,how can i disable the positve boyancy mod,..I am aware that there is a light version , but even with that ,the behaviour is Exactly opposit of the historical fact...
Boat drove with physical positive boyancy via dive planes but with static negative one.
If you watch das boot you can find plenty of evidence for that,, to name a public exampel.
Which means the boat tends to sink ,that had a reason ,as it allowed to dive real fast...,not to pop out of the water that would be suicidal and has to be avoided at all costs and is utter nonsense., think about it ,would you risk your boat like that.. i wouldnt and the Kaleuns of ww2 didnt either.
And i dont talk about preflooding ok?
So how do i remove that Positive Boyancy completley.?

Second if you would provide an option for tankerif seefloor mood light ,you know the smaller texture version, even low end computers could use the mod.

And please dont claim it doesnt work,.. it does.

I play several campaigns.. atm withthe GWX1.3,,and i can play it the whole day with no errors so far,.. Good job.

Just the typeXXI campaign i started in Bergen in 1945 gives me headaches.
Every mission or campaign battle with the XXI in it ,is crashing sh3 after a random delay.. soemtime 30 minutes into the mission sometimes 20 minutes ,and at all stations ,in external mode on the torp load screen at the periscope.. etc. seems to be completly random but its only with the XXI ,..so i dont get it.. it doesnt matter if i activate the snorkel mod or not..,it doesnt even matter if i am in the boat or watching enemy ships in close up.. but its always conected to some sort of activity.. like draging a torp into a load slot (i am aware of the bugs arround that screen but this "feels" diffrent),zoom in or out click on the periskope fire button etc.. it wouldnt happpen if do nothing but watch the current scene, i assume.
It doenst matter if i use the light version(128mb) of tankerif seefloor or the stock version for 256 megs graphic cards. Tryed both via jsgme

Is there something diffrent compared to the Type VIIB for example ??..,as with that one i never had any crashes at all.
Third,is it possible to mute the " oh my good when will this be over" guy? its enerving he says that all the time.. while dc`d.

In the end i have a heretical sounding request.
Could you include a jsgm option with a moded flottila file that allows to drive the XXI from 39 on starting in Hamburg or kiel etc..? Reason is i am into sub sims since the first ones came out , 80Tys systems...,i cant count my Accumulated Feindfahrten in the last 25 years.., and i am just in the mood to try something radical diffrent.. alternative History if you like.

Besides all this, you made a great effort i can see that, just dont let this get to your head

:hmm:There is someone who is actually working on this 'Fantasy Flottila' mod. It has been delayed due to other commitments but I'm sure it will see the light of day eventually.

Who? I've been wanting such a mod for YEARS, LOL! :rotfl:

@ENtek-IO: Aggressive way to seek help. I had started answering your q's, but was put off by your "don't tell me this and that" crap.

I'm not sure, my memory is not what it once was. I do know that he's taking his time on it.:p

To hell with realism, I want my XXI in '39 equiped with photon torpedos and stealth camo.:rotfl:Oh, and a snazzy new flotilla emblem.

XXI (or anything) in '39 is pretty easy to mod, just gotta change the dates in basic.cfg, though adding in the missing years for the subs can be a pain. Also helps to change the flottilla.cfg to add the XXI to other flottilla's

Though i never did figure out how to make torpedos available when i want (i think its hard coded).

I would offer the mod i made, but mine is heavily modified from stock GWX.

Aha,.. errm agressive??? Sorry if that sounded Offensive to you ,i just tryed to spare time for us all. you stumble over one little sentence ,that even was well intended??
To bad Bro.
Besides, your mod enabler is one of the most proctical universal usable tools for gamers i ever saw, really great stuff!!

Further, if you read that special comment in its context..,its directly pointing to the fact that some people claim you cant use those textures in GWX ok?
I am German we are agressive ,.. you know that!!.?

In regard to the Flotila modification.. i did this very mod for my vanilla installation,..undocumented over several years ,,, in the end i had to reinstall sh3 because of a new HD and lost it,.. now i am with GWX and i just tryed to find out if anyone already did this because i fear it will be a pain in the A to make that mod again without brakeing GWx. I lack time and patience to do it again.

I would really appreciate if you could view past my "crap" and help.

Edit: i found something that is really offensive,.. look at that Link,, i think a few of the Gwx people have slight attude problems ,could that be? http://www.rtfmfm.net/
That is what you get if you look for help?? Pardon?
As if the friggin Manual would resolve all issues arround GWX.

LOL That's number 2

Yes, the language there is a little offensive. But if you were around when GWX was released then you would realise that there was so many questions asked that were answered in the manual that we just replied - RTFM.

Besides, didn't your mother ever tell you not to visit strange links?
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

No offense ment mate, just a little fun.

Yadda Yadda Blahblah.

You walk in here with your offensive attitude problem... attempting to DIRECT good people to do your bidding... It isn't going to work.

I almost looked past your condescension and answered your post... but JScones said it best. We've spent more than two years building GWX and helping people with issues.

Danlisa, JScones, and Bigboywooly are some of the nicest people you will find here... and they didn't like your attitude either.

Learn how to talk to people and treat them with respect... Then you get help.

Using the excuse, "I'm German so I don't have time to be polite" is a cop-out.

GWX is aimed at historical accuracy... and with all the underlying problems that were present before we ever TOUCHED the files.... blaming everything on GWX is stupid and uneducated.

It is people like JScones, BBW, Rubini, danlisa, and othere GWX Devs that give and give and give some more... usually always without complaint. It wouldn't hurt you to ask instead of order.

What have you done for anyone here lately?

If you don't like the mod... delete it and go back to stock SH3.

Kpt.Lehmann have right. I have a couple of question before to GWX members and always I got the answer. GWX team is great and I think that way of conversation with them is not good. This is one great community and I will be long here!

Hi,

@ENtek-IO: Your post sounds extremely aggressive. Even for me as a german. Don't you think it is very impolite asking people for a favor in such a way?

The GWX members are extremely helpful if one asks in a friendly manner, even if the questions are not directly connected to GWX. They have an immense knowledge about the game and the modding possibilities and I am glad they share this tremendous know-how. Unfortunately, people like you do not increase the chance that they will do that in the future.

It has been my experience that GWX is more proactively supported than the
original game it was built on. MM

Yadda yaddaa Bla bla bla,??? do you even listen to yourself sometimes?

Guys, i am to old to get into Childish bull**** like that,.. grow up man.

What i did for the "Community"???? THe question should be why you think that just because you did something out of free will, people have to slide on their kees in the vicinity of you!?

Please i wont bother you guys again.,..jeeez.

I will find out myself ,always did that.

Before SH3 ,and you guys showing up, Subsim.com never was a place where you would get reactions like that.

That being said,.. Have fun .

Why not ask nicely if you need help? Don't blame someone else if you try to get a bad reaction out of people. Good luck with your quest, this discussion is a waste of GWX members' time.
