Default Is this cheating? (CONVOY TRICK IN SHALLOW WATERS)

Everyone fears hitting convoys in shallow waters, well I am out of Kiel and I have no choice, its all 25 meters max or 30.. I usually sink two out of a convoy right away and then dive down to a sunken merchant and stay next time him till the DD's leave, rince and repeat.

Is this cheating?

Normal behaviour??

I blast a lone merchant in shallow now and then but rarely any if escorted.
Tried that a few times, get my jazz blasted each time no matter what I try. Unless, I am lucky to get into position to take out the escort of course.

Once I remember trying to wait it out parked right next to the sunk ship. Two DD's had me pegged. They would circle and circle, only stopping breifly to make sure I was still there. But they could't or wouldn't go over the ship. Perhaps because something of the mast was poking out of the water. I even watched them blast a few Luftwaffe flyers down, now that was just plain insulting.

Never mind 300 Spartans....I'd much rather have 300 metres beneath my keel

If you're using the external camera it is.

It's not cheating per se, but it is kind of gamey since you're exploiting the weak AI. It should be obvious that you're hiding in a place that is unaccesible for the escorts, but maybe that's OK and still fair game. However, what happens later on is the problem. In real life the ships wouldn't just leave after a while, but rather would simply wait until you ran out of air and then shell you to pieces.

Lol I did that once, I attacked a convoy in '45, but the ship was floating there after it had been destroyed, so I parked my sub directly under it hoping the DD's would bugger off...quite the opposite they stuck around just circling me like a group of sharks waiting for their prey. Then I heard the sound for when a ships sinking...OH SH!T!!! "We're taking damage sir!", the ship I was under decided to give up and landing right on top of me lol.
