Is the Snorkel for allowing the sub to run on deisel underwater, getting it's air from the snorkel tube above water? Not sure if I got that correct...
If so, is it in the game? I don't see a key for it... What are the standard cruising procedures to a target area? I try and stay under during the day, and surface at night to replenish my batteries. If I need to surface during the day, can I just use the snorkel to run on deisel, replenish my batteries, and get oxygen and expel the Co2? I am running at about 30 realisum, with the checkboxes checked for real Oxygen, Co2, Fuel, and Batteries. But the red battery scrollbar 'never' goes down. Neither does the Oxygen. But when I surface, a crew member immediatly tells me "Captian, we must surface, we are out of Oxygen."... Why does he always wait until I decide to surface? |

US Subs did not incorporate the schnorkle until well after WW2 so it won't be putting in an appearance in SH4:WOTP.

The US did not have snorkles in WW2. I'm sure it was on the design board, but unlike the Germans, they never really faced a superior anti submarine effort to force them to develop it for the fleet boats.

Ok, thanks. I thought I read something about the snorkel in the manual.

Most allies did not really understand the concept. The Britisch Admiralty even wanted Dutch subs to remove their snorts when they arrived in the UK after Holland had been invaded by the Germans.
![]() They just did not want any unnecessary holes in the pressure hull. Of course they did have a point because snorts where not needed in the beginning of the war. Last edited by Drebbel; 04-06-07 at 08:40 AM. |

Its an unremoved thing from sh3 like other files and data.
![]() it is useless because snorkels objects and animations aren´t modelled, other think are the decoys, only used by german submarines.
