Default How long is your periscope?

Mine is apparently at least 900ft long because when I order periscope depth (with 'P') the chap on the dive planes just keeps on going down and down. Somebody helpfully points out that we're diving too deep as we pass 190m but he is determined to get that scope under the surface. I've noticed that if I turn TC off I can sometimes wake him up by repeatedly clicking on sensible depths.

Is there a work-around for this? Cos at the moment it's driving me nuts.

Also, I think it's only fair to point out that the pacific is basically chock full of snipers. With mill-pond smooth seas I am losing deck watch almost every time I come out of TC. The officer on deck assures me that he is no longer shooting the men for falling asleep during their watch.

Just kidding, and please do not take this serious. Tat2demon gived the most perfect answer to your question.

Submarines that are not equipped with a long periscope, usually claim this.

I'll never tell you or any man who long my scope is:rotfl::rotfl: Sounds like your sub is having the weird bug of just wanting to sink for no good reason at all. I do not know a cure other than starting a new career.

Yes, use the page up/down keys. This is actually in the manual though I don't blame for not bothering to look in it because I think this might be the only bit of it which has any useful information at all.

Ok on a more serious note -

It sounds like an issue with computer lag and diving. Dont dive with TC on. Knock it down to normal speed before ordering periscope depth. After you give the order you should be able to up the TC a bit.

That should fix it. If not, try a reinstall. If its not lag it may be that whatever file has the depth settings may be messed up.
