1.) what is the function of the button on the postion keeper, and how do I use it?

2.) on the torpedo device thingy ,lol- what is the "s" button--how is it used, why is it always red and any other explaination

thank you in advance for answering probably very stupid questions

The Position Keeper is a unit that automatically updates your target ship's position to the TDC, so that you don't have to take continual sightings. You can turn the PK on with the small gray button in the bottom right corner of the PK, it will go red when its active. Any information you then send to the TDC is also input into the position keeper.

In essence, you can input a ship's range, speed, and bearing into the position keeper, lower the scope, and fire a fish later on, and still hit since the PK will update the solution continually. This is of course assuming your input values are correct.

The "S" button is the target locker, basically it locks the periscope view to your target so you can take accurate readings on a moving ship.

Not stupid questions at all, this game is quite confusing at times, lol.

i dont use pk because I am also running on easy mode. Just wondering tho, if you have it on easy, I take it the PK is filled with accurate info so as long as the target continues on the same path, we could actually lower the scope and shoot, after positioning ourselves without the periscope?

Also, did I see somewhere that pk isnt working "as intended", or is that for manual?

Yup, PK should work like that on easy mode, just make sure its turned on.

As for the PK bug, I never read about it throughly, it was something to do with bearings either in the game or manual. Seems to work fine in game for me, though.

So does the "s" locker always stay red? I went back to sub school--cruiser was passing right in front of me--had a green triangle-and when I moused over the "s" it still showed poor. I clicked it once and it said good, but still red, and then clicked a second time -said good locked, but still red and definitley not locked onto the ship in the periscope view--thamks again!
