Default Ship hits....

Is it just me or why does it take 5 torpedoes, plus the deck gun to sink a med size freighter?

I can get a small freighter with 2, med with 3 and a large with 4. And I often don't need the last one, it's just my 'banker' in case one of the others misses.

Hit a huge liner for 19,000t with 4 torps. it exploded and I got the message 'deystroyed' before the 4th torp hit.

I would also like to think that maybe the Dev's put into the game all of the problems with torpedos. I remember reading stories on how they thought they got a hit and heard an explosion but whatever the reason, (I believe the Mark 14 warhead was rather small) it took numerous hits to sink a ship. Makes sense considering the low tonnage scores subs had in the Pacific.

Then again it may be a bug!

Are you spreading your hits out? Seems to help if you can hit along the full legth of the target.
