Default Wave settings, just FYI

I think i found out why Ubi set the wave variables so low in the sim.cfg. The stock SH4 wave settings are:
Quote:
Waves amplitude=0.2
Waves attenuation=0.75
When you set them to stock SH3 wave settings:
Quote:
Waves amplitude=0.5
Waves attenuation=0.3
The waves behave just like SH3 (obviously). Some users have noted that boats seem to ride too high out of the water in SH4. So the obvious solution is to change them to Sh3 settings , or one would think. Anyway, point of this post is i found it hard to believe ubi didnt change those variables without good reason. That reason being, the subs in thsi game simply can't tread on the surface with the larger waves. For a quick illustration of this, just set your wave settings, and then set the wind to 15 kts in a single mission. Your sub, wont stay on the surface very well. Infact your even pushed back into the control room quite often. It also seemed to eat up a few FPS as well.

I suspect that if you want better waves you'll have to run a single mission at 15 kt winds and keep adjusting the wave settigns by trial and error until you have one that can tread water in storm conditions. Oh yeah, also, small craft like elco's?,... BOOOM. They blow up and slowly sink. Same ole bug from SH3 we ran into quite a bit with elco's on fire and such..
