Default You Got To Be Kidding Me!

I can seriously CRY right now!

I Alt Tab to tell you this. Ok I had to go to one of those Island off of Japan for patrol, sunk the normal freight and all that.

So I decided to go back to Pearl bc I ran out of fishes and deck gun ammo. So as I'm sailing back to base and I'm way north of wake island and out of NOWHERE this HUGE Jap taskforce sails right OVER me. Freaken 4 Aircraft carriers a ton of battleships and a ton of other ships AND I am lined up 90 degrees on the dot without manuvering on them. So now I had to run silent and drop 140ft down and wait for them to pass. I'm soo pissed! 4 Jap Carriers man and battleships! Also, let me add it was in clear skys and not waves!

Is this rare or do you think I could come across this again?

perhaps it's based on historical facts. Was Wake Island in american hands during the time? It could be the japanese navy sailing towards the island to capture it (which they eventually did) or sailing FROM the island AFTER capturing it. What year and date was this?

It wasn't Wake, I got my bearings mixed up. It was actually south of Tokyo.

Not worth crying over, but I ran across a huge Jap task force consisting of two battleships, 4 fleet carriers and a whole pile of destroyers. Of course I wasn't in position to intercept them while they were cruising along at 26 knots.

Default Just Speculating...

Could it be that major fleet movements are modeled in the game so that you WILL meet them at historically accurate places and times....:hmm:

If so this brings up all kinds of interesting possibilities like you might just happen to be lying in wait in the San Bernardino Straits on a certain night in Oct '44.... or Savo Island in Nov 42 (was it?)

We just may have to hit the history books a little harder and maybe save a fish or three just in case our home bound track puts us in a position to score a big one for the home team!
