[REL] Ship ID assistance by WO
It's small, but it's still a mod....right?
I don't mind using manual TDC, but I do miss my ship-id sidekick WO. So I came up with the following solution: Edit Ordersbar.cfg (...\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Menu\cfg\ordersbar.cfg) Edited the three lines in the middle (started with ;Button7Commandxxxx)....like this: ....... ;Button6Command=Lower_whole_obs_periscope ;Button6IconRowColumn=3,6 ;Button6Tooltip=5627 Button8Command=WP_Identify_target Button8IconRowColumn=3,7 Button8Tooltip=ID Target Button5Command=Recognition_manual Button5CommandToCheckIfIsEnabled=Is_AnyPeriscope_c amera_station_Active Button5IconRowColumn=3,8 Button5Tooltip=5629 ........ This gives you a button in periscope and UZO view, that makes the WO ID-ships for you just like in SH3. The icon used is intended for the not so implemented WO_calculate_solution function. (Can be edited in ...\Data\Menu\Gui\Layout\hud.dds). PS If you would like to assign a key to this command; edit command.cfg like this. [Cmd343] Name=WP_Identify_target Ctxt=1 MnID=0x3F130002 Str=1073 Key0=0x49,Cs,"SHIFT I" Now there's just 999 things to fix, then SH4 will be as good as GWX-SH3....... ![]() ![]() Stene |

Stene
Thanks for the tip. I like using manual targeting but I also really like having some help with Ship Identification ![]() One question, you said the Warrant Officer help with firing solution is not implemented in Silent Hunter4. Is there any way to enable the WO help with firing solution feature? Edward |

Just tried this and I had som difficulty to see exactly WHERE this changes should be done ";Button6Command=Lower_whole_obs_periscope ;Button6IconRowColumn=3,6 ;Button6Tooltip=5627 Button8Command=WP_Identify_target Button8IconRowColumn=3,7 Button8Tooltip=ID Target Button5Command=Recognition_manual Button5CommandToCheckIfIsEnabled=Is_AnyPeriscope_c amera_station_Active Button5IconRowColumn=3,8 Button5Tooltip=5629" Can you describe this a little bit more (im probably stupid) or upload a file with this changes done. Thanks again. |

rulle, I had the same issue trying to figure out where to put the code. I just used the second option of adding the command.cfg change to use "shift+I" and it works great. No buttons but the keyboard command works.

![]() This shift+I will be perfect for me. and quite enough. Had this option in SH 3 as well and it was very handy! |

I suppose the explanation could have been better.
[rulle34]
Regarding where to make the changes. I'll try to clarify this: In OrdersBar.cfg (...\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Menu\cfg\OrdersBar.cfg) Replace line 218 - 220 with these three: Button8Command=WP_Identify_target Button8IconRowColumn=3,7 Button8Tooltip=ID Target This replaces the lines intended for WO compute solution. This file is easy to modify, so I'm sure a lot of modifications will be done to it in some sort of Integrated Orders Mod for SH4 later. I've done this in the unpatched version, but I guess its the same in ver 1.01. [Edward] Regarding WO solution to target: I've tried briefly to activate this, without any luck so far. It's possible to ask the WO for assistance, by assigning a key in commands.cfg. Like this: [Cmd344] Name=WP_Solution_to_target Ctxt=1 MnID=0x3F130003 Str=1074 Key0=0x53,Cs,"SHIFT S" But the solution he's giving is not correct. I'm still looking at this, but hopefully this will be fixed in a patch. ![]() Stene |

Thanks Stene! I was just looking at the Solution part and had tried the wrong entry. So the solution is wrong? I'm hoping the speed is at least close to correct. THAT is what I need help with. Even with this new chart I'm having problems.
Where the hell is my crew that is supposed to help me with this?

Have you a solution for the problem with "Solution to target" ?
After the second patch, there is the same problem ![]() |
