Default What gfx settings to see holes, marks in ships?

Ive heard that you can see gaping holes and what not in ships when you shoot at them. But I see nothing. Not even black textures as in SH3. What graphical options must be turned on for this effect?

Ive basically turned on everything EXCEPT post processing. Looks too ugly.

Have you tried using impact fuse on your torpedos? I discovered that sometimes the magnetic fused torpedo explodes few inches from the hull making no hole.

The setting is called "Ship´s 3D damage" or something similar in the graphics settings.

Anyway, its the 3D damage bar on the top left. All the way to the left means full damage.

I have seen torps causing no 3D damage too, whilst others do. I suspect it has more to do with where you hit, as it seems to only work at some parts of the ships.

To the left!? Isnt it so that the left is off and the right is on?!? Like in sound volumes.

Ah, THOSE sliders

/wtb spectacles

Got it turned on now.

As for torps not causing damage, those could be duds. They are really ANNOYING. They explode like 30 feet before your ship, looks definitely like a hit. But its a premature detonation. Is that what you saw?

some torps actually physically connect. but dont cause a hole.
perhaps a limit to the graphics engine, mayeb they hit the one inch of ship where "3d holes" werent modelled.

I just notice that when I play back a Replay when torpedos hit their target I didn´t see the nice effects of 3D damage in the ships they go down in the way I see while playing but when I see the action under replay the 3d damage effect are gone... it´s a bug? (I test it with the torpedo training mission were you have to sink the crusier)

I also check that if I hit the "play" icon in the replay control bar AFTER firing the torpedoes and I continue with manual playing from that moment the effects are back when the torpedos finally hit the target!! weird!! maybe the replay don´t save all the action data and that is the reason that it didn´t show the 3d damage...

please can you confirm that, thanks!!
