I had a torpedoe get it's rudder jammed full left straight out of tube and run in circles. It was a damn good thing I dove deep after that last shot.
When I saw this happen I smiled. I never had this happen in SH3. Rocco |

hopefully this is NOT a bug and is part of the dud-trops as this can and did happon to a good number of subs (sank a fuw as well)

Very cool, another great improvement added in SH4. I was just reading last night about how this type of malfunction sank Richard O'Kane's "Tang" in Oct. 1944.

Yes, five minuyes ago USS Trout had to crashdive when the fish came back in circle.

I've also had one leave the tube and turn right in a circle next to the sub but missed and I was able to go flank, Dive and clear the area before it came around on a second loop..

Funny this topic popped up. Ive just had that very problem..... Only with 3 torps at once. I had to dive to about 18m and avoided all of them but they kept coming back for more :rotfl:

I fired a torp from the TDC on the bridge. I opened the door, fired and within 10 sec all I saw was a white explosive blast in the TDC view. I switched to bridge view and saw that the torp must have exploded almost right out of the tube. Thankfully I didnt get any damage. Just a gentle rocking.
![]() Now when I fire I get paranoid and dive a little deeper. I NEVER fire from a standstill.

During the submarine school mission (attack the cruiser) a torp exploded as it was being launched and blew the entire bow section apart, could see right through the bow upto the conning tower and even the torp bays.
i re-submerged to see what would happen and yes.... i nose dived stright to the bottom of the ocean fast! i like these new additions for dud's (assuming that it is part of the DuD option or not just a bug) the odd thing is half the crew should have been dead when the bow disintegrated yet all mine were untouched... |

I actually managed to sink myself when 2 torpedoes from a 4-fish salvo circled and came back...
Never stay in place after firing torpedoes. |
