Hello! As my nickname would imply,my sub ended up fish food and in my first patrol out of the pen...Actually it was quite a good patrol.I am using GWX with some mods.I had sunk about 18000 tons of shipping, with 2 torpedoes left.I was patrolling off the coast of Ireland hoping for a last easy target. Then something happened and i found myself out of time compression, taking damage and a DD shelling me.Result : Before i could understand what was happening,i was depth charged at 100 m.I fixed all flooding but then i noticed the sub wouldn't sabilize to a depth nor surface.I crushed at about 125 m.The screen said cause of death "colliding".
Apparently my watch crew didn't see the DD rolling over my sub during time compression. My only consolation is that they 're all dead now too. Is there ANY way to avoid similar incidents when in time compression? Is there a mod or something that can fix the "blindness" of the watch crew?Ok,there is fog,i don't expect them to spot a DD from far away, but i would expect them to see it when it's about to roll over us! Thank you! |

Heavy fog is indeed deadly on TC. I would recommend using 128x TC max to be a little safer, or dive.

Yes,most of my careers where stopped by a DD attacking me in heavy for while in TC.As a matter of fact,i have yet to see 1943 past March.I always start in 1939 and usually by 1941,this "blind" watch crew will have me killed. And since i play "dead is dead"...
You think at 128 things will get better? Thanks ,i 'll try that. |

There are 2 solutions for fog.
First, Radar/Radar Dectector. Get these installed as soon as they are available. Second, if you are early in the war, I would suggest diving and waiting it out. As you have found Heavy Fog is dangerous. Your crew will likely not even report a contact even at 1xTC in that weather. At least not until it's too late. You, however will be able to see the contact in time to react but waiting out Fog at 1xTC is tiresome. Take option 2. Dive & TC.

Thanks.Boy,this is a real game-killer.I m bored waiting even at 1024x.I usually just surf and from time to time i switch to the SH3 window and see if something new is on the map.I can't babysit my watch crew like that, nor check the weather all the time so to dive.
Anyway,i ll try the lower TC.If i m lucky i will make it to the radar era. :rotfl: |

i would just reload!
i dont want to say that this is stupid but loosing the game due to a game bug is ridiculous -- please do not get me wrong of course you can play like you want. but it´s a game do not restrict yourself like that. if you die in a "normal" situation without being cheated i can understand... |
